Naima El Kadi
MOROCCO/BELGIUM
Naïma El Kadi is an artist with Moroccan roots based in Antwerp. She holds a degree in Business Management and a certification in Fine Art Photography at the Academy of Art Temse. El Kadi is a research photographer, working on long term projects and capturing personal stories often related to identity, family relations and social issues. Her photography attempts to embody power and sensitivity at the same time through a poetic approach. In her most recent work, she portrays her personal search for identity and her ‘home’. This project, which was published in her first book entitled ‘My Olive Tree, Memouna’, aims to look at the different elements that can create a home: not just the physical landscapes, but the people we surround ourselves with, that link most of us to this idea of ‘home’.
